NEW and UPDATED 2007-2008 SEASON
LITTLE
SHOP OF HORRORS
September 13 - 30, 2007
The Byers Studio Theatre at The Lyric
Thurs.-Sat. at 8:00PM Sundays at 2:00PM
A down-and out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon "Audrey II" grows into an ill-tempered,
foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global
domination!
One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, this affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies has become a house hold name, thanks to a highly successful film version and a score by the
songwriting team of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, who redefined the animated musical film with Disney's "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin." Charming, tuneful and hilarious,
with tongue firmly planted in cheek, Little Shop of Horrors never fails to entertain.
THE 1940's
RADIO HOUR
November 1 - 18, 2007
The Byers Studio Theatre at The Lyric
Thurs.-Sat. at 8:00PM Sundays at 2:00PM
Take a musical sentimental journey to a bygone era as you experience this "live" radio broadcast from the Hotel Astor's Algonquin Room on December 21, 1942. The spirit of that era, when the world was
at war and pop music meant "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," and "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo" (all of which are in the show), is wonderfully captured. Full of
1940s big-band music, swing dancing, patriotism, and old-fashioned sound effects, The 1940s Radio Hour is a treat for the whole family you won't want to miss.
FOREVER
PLAID
May 21 - 29, 2008
The Balzer Theatre at Herren's
For Tickets call 678.528.1500
Forever Plaid is the deliciously funny and charming story of "The Plaids," a classic 1950s all-male singing group, who were killed in a car crash on their way to their first big gig! Audiences will
be rolling in the aisles and tapping their toes as "The Plaids" are miraculously revived to perform the concert that never was in this hilariously nostalgic musical! Performing precision harmonies
and executing their delightfully outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, "The Plaids" perform some of the 1950s' greatest hits: "Catch a Falling Star," "Three Coins in the Fountain,"
"Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing" and "Magic Moments."

ANYTHING
GOES
May 2, 3 & 4, 2008
The Ferst Center for the Arts at GA Tech
Fri.-Sat. at 8:00PM Sundays at 2:00PM
From the golden age of the American musical comedy, Anything Goes is a hedonistic pleasure cruise packed with classic Cole Porter numbers: "You're the Top", "It's De-Lovely", "I Get a Kick Out of
You", "Blow, Gabriel, Blow", and the show-stopping title song "Anything Goes".
Luxury ocean liner the S.S. American sets sail for Europe with a cargo of colorful characters including millionaires, gangsters, stowaways, a beautiful debutante and a raunchy evangelist. Mismatched
lovers and mistaken identities create waves of laughter and the cast sings and tap dances up a storm, but, this show is unsinkable. This Tony-Award winning musical originally starring Ethel Merman,
will send you sailing happily into the sunset!
SOME
ENCHANTED EVENING:
THE SONGS OF RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN
June 5 - 22, 2008
The Byers Studio Theatre at The Lyric
Thurs.-Sat. at 8:00PM Sundays at 2:00PM
Join us for an intimate and elegant evening of entertainment featuring hit songs from Rodgers & Hammerstein's celebrated works. We sing them in the shower, we dance to them in ballrooms, and we
hear them on the radio and in clubs and, yes, in elevators and supermarkets too. We still thrill to them on the live stage in their respective shows, and we teach them to our children. This stunning
collection of compositions include such memorable classics as "It's a Grand Night for Singing," "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'," "Honey Bun," "Do-Re-Mi," "There Is Nothing Like a Dame," "People Will
Say We're In Love," "I Enjoy Being A Girl," "Shall We Dance," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," "Younger Than Springtime," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair," "My Favorite Things," "The Sound
of Music," "Oklahoma!," and, of course, "Some Enchanted Evening."
Educational and Community Enrichment Program
The Lyric continues its Educational and Community Enrichment Program, an outreach program offering student, senior, church, and civic groups special access to Thursday dress
rehearsals at the Ferst Center for the Arts.
