The Pirates of Penzance April 24- May 10, 2009.

Wacky, irreverent and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, Gilbert & Sullivan’s popular operetta spins a hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major General, all morally bound to the often ridiculous dictates of honor and duty.

Cabaret June 12 – 28, 2009.

Originally Starring Joel Grey as the eerily grinning emcee welcoming the audience, there has never been a musical like “Cabaret.” In 1930 pre-war Berlin, a naive American novelist, Clifford Bradshaw, arrives looking for inspiration for his next book. He finds his unlikely muse in a free- spirited English singer, Sally Bowles, who performs in a seedy nightclub. But their relationship is soon threatened by Germany’s changing political climate. With music and lyrics by the same team that composed “Chicago,” John Kander & Fred Ebb’s score features “Willkommen,” “Maybe This Time,” “Don’t Tell Mama” and the show-stopping title tune. “Cabaret” won 8 Tony Awards in 1967, including Best Musical, and the film version featuring Liza Minelli won 8 Academy Awards.
