Now in its 27th year of producing professional musical theatre, The Lyric is proud to present a continuing and unique theatre education program, The Lyric Academy's Kids on Broadway.

Focussing on the three elements found in musical theatre; singing, dancing and acting; Kids on Broadway gives young artists the opportunity to hone these skills by rehearsing and performing in original, fully-staged productions. All Kids on Broadway productions are led by some of the finest and most experienced performers in the southeast.

Kids on Broadway provides a great opportunity for young performing artists who are interested in developing their performing arts skills and gaining additional performance experience.

Description-

The Lyric Academy's Fall and Spring Kids on Broadway productions have a six-week rehearsal period. Rehearsals are held twice a week, two hours each day. All rehearsals and performances are held at The Byers Studio Theatre at The Lyric, located at 1705 Commerce Drive, Atlanta, GA, 30318 (off Northside Drive and I-75, just north of downtown).

Eligibility-

Children ages 9-12 may apply. Students are accepted into the program by audition only. A limited number of auditions will be held for younger students.

Tuition-

$350, non-refundable

Audition Requirements-

Children must audition to be accepted into Kids on Broadway and must prepare the following for the audition:

- Two (2) short musical selections (must provide sheet music; no taped accompaniment allowed) - One (1) short monologue, poem or reading (does not have to be memorized) - Current head shot or picture - Resume

Please arrive dressed for movement audition in appropriate shoes and comfortable clothing.
