The purpose of Atlanta Lyric Theatre shall be to dedicate its work to the development and production of the best of the music theatre and light opera repertoire, encouraging new musical theatre works by American composers and exploring neglected musical theatre pieces. Fostering a wider awareness of this repertoire among the theatre going public, The Lyric is committed to excellence and diversity among its performers, its staff, and its audience.

Atlanta Lyric Theatre is the metro area's only local professional musical theatre company, each season performing two mainstage productions at the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts, accompanied by a full union orchestra, and performing three additional productions at The Byers Studio Theatre at The Lyric. Atlanta Lyric Theatre also utilizes Atlanta's own professional talent in all its productions.

Atlanta Lyric Theatre has been in residence at the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts on the campus of Georgia Tech for the last fifteen seasons. In addition, the company also performs in The Byers Studio Theatre at The Lyric, located at 1705 Commerce Drive NW, Atlanta. All Atlanta Lyric Theatre tickets are sold through the Ferst Center Box Office at 404-894-9600.
